Unarchived cases (those with no backup) appear in the left table in the window. Notice that only cases which have been marked with a status of Dictate or higher can be archived. This is because an exam can still be changed (images added) until a doctor has dictated a report and after that no images can be added.
When an archive unit is mounted in your drive, if it has a name in the format “MacPacs Archive 0000”, it will be recognized by the Archive Manager as a backup disc. When a backup disc is available the Archive Manager can copy exam images from the pacs system to the backup disc. When the disc is full, you can start a new one and continue.
The list on the right side shows exams which are backed up on that unit. You can use this window to check for cases on old units by entering a unit number in the top right and clicking the “Load” button.
